With the holidays upon us and the conversations I've been having in my teleclasses and face to face it's clear to me that food is still a big issue for many people during this time. On Tuesday's teleclass I discussed 5 Simple Swaps for Healthier Holiday eating (you can still get the recording at http://tinyurl.com/rpholiday) and immediately after the call the positive comments came pouring in.
The great thing about having a blog, and today's current technology is that I get to share my years of experience and insight with you and reduce your learning curve. What I shared are tips that will help for the holiday season and beyond. As a bonus, I'm also sending everyone that was registered for the call a set of recipes for the foods that I discussed. Here's a bonus right now that you can add to your library:
Quick and Easy Pie Crust
- 1 cup finely chopped nuts (almonds, pecans or brazil nuts)
- 1 cup nut butter (same or different as above)
Raw Pumpkin Pie Filling
- 2 cups shredded pumpkin or butternut squash
- 1 cup soft medjool dates (pits removed and soaked about 1 hour)
- ½ cup soaked almonds
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- ½ teaspoon nutmeg
- ¼ cup coconut water

I’m a raw vegan and frankly this time of year can be tough. Trying to accommodate my dinner guests as well as being surrounded by tons of junky and processed foods can get way out of hand. Someone at the local whole foods recommended I check out this site www.RoseCole.com/HolidayCookbook . It has tons of vegan/raw vegan/sugar free/ dairy free/gluten free recipes. I’ve tested out a few on some NON-vegan friends and they loved them!
